We need everyone's help right now to protect the rainforest and Indigenous People

The Amazon Rainforest is under a massive threat. I know you've heard this a million times, but this is different. There is a piece of legislation that will decimate the rights of Indigenous people of Brazil, who have been protecting the rainforest. It's unfathomably bad. It has majority support. And they're voting tomorrow.

As reported here, the Bill allows "the Brazilian government to find energy resources, set up military bases, develop strategic roads, and implement commercial agriculture on protected Indigenous tribal lands, without any prior discussion with the affected peoples."

The thing you can do—and I know this sounds overly simple—is sign this petition—and tell your friends to do the same: SIGN HERE.

Again, this bill has majority support. You may be wondering, why will a petition signed by people who don't live in Brazil make any difference? Because it will give those opposing it political air cover. It will show the world is with them.

🩺 On September 3, 2021, Tumblr and Planned Parenthood partnered up in response to a Texas law that came into effect September 1, S.B. 8., effectively banning abortion in the state and asking private citizens to act as bounty hunters who “enforce” the law.

I’m scared about São Paulo staying in quarantine for much longer cause this is putting my parents job at risk (which also means I won’t be getting a job any time sooner), but putting an end to the quarantine means that we’ll be back to our normal lives but we can also get exposed to the virus if it’s not completely controlled.

This whole situation is triggering in so many levels cause my family has been struggling A LOT with money, my dad is risking to lose his job, we have no idea how we’ll be paying bills this month (our bank accounts are empty), it’s all a mess.

Also not having money is risking my health insurance getting cancelled, which will make me drop my crps treatment and my therapy. I already have no idea how we’ll be getting all the meds I need this month, not to mention that my health insurance put on hold my therapy during quarantine cause they don’t believe in “online therapy”. AS IF I DIDN’T HAVE ENOUGH REASONS TO LOSE MY MIND.

If you can help me and my parents get through this month (even your prayers are welcome), that would be very appreciated. I know so many people are suffering too through this time we lost our jobs/ I’m ill and I have to drink some medicines everyday but this month I couldn’t get any of them because my mom became sick and I bought her medicines instead. I felt like this is gonna make me stronger I’m now on the 5th day without using any medicine. I feel so sick but my mind is telling my that I can survive Idk. If you were asking how I even have the money my dad sent me some to get my medicines he doesn’t know about anything happening with us at the moment. And he is having the worst days as well because he isn’t with us he’s stuck in another city for work and he couldn’t comeback to us + he lost his job.

I feel so desperate the fact that we are trying to collect each cent to pay our groceries and we still have bills to pay. I really have no Idea how we will survive through this situation. My mom still needs to get some researches as well but we couldn’t go to hospital because they are full and I’m scared that my mom will catch the virus. Plus the researches needs a lot of money and at this time WE ARE ALL BROKE.

My name is Stirling.

I just wanted to congratulate you on 13 years of music! I am so thankful for all of your albums because although each of them has a special place in my heart, your latest 3 albums have helped me the most.

It was in 2015 while still living in Nashville that I first listened to 1989 (thanks to my friend Kristyn [she’s a huge swiftie and her Twitter account is KristynY20!]), which made me a fan of your music. This was the album that helped me through a huge move (from Tennessee to Texas). I remember when the 1989 tour came through Arlington how sad I was that I couldn’t attend the show because of how much that album had helped me that year.

Fast forward to December 2016 when I received Red as a Christmas gift. Because of certain circumstances that tried to manipulate and control my life, my Christmas that year was really depressing because I felt that I wasn’t in control of my life and that someone else had written the narrative I was to follow for me. Red was so relatable (and still is) at that time of my life because I felt that although I went through a different situation, Red fit what I was going through perfectly.

Reputation. This was the first album release I got to experience as a swiftie. This album also came into my life right as I felt my life was literally crumbling around me. 2017 was the start of my senior year of high school, and walking in the first few days, I felt that literally everyone had betrayed me. That is, except for my real friends, who I still am in contact with today. This album literally gave me my confidence back and helped me reclaim who I was. It also taught me to not care what others think of my decisions and that your real friends are the ones who show up for you rain or shine. This was also the era where I FINALLY got to see you live at Arlington night 1. I was so excited that I lost my voice during the opening acts 😂 and became even more excited when I found out that there was a camera right behind me shooting for the concert film.

Lover. When I first found out that ME! was going to be released on my birthday (April 26th), I LOST IT! Out of all the days it could’ve been released, it was released on my birthday. And a couple hours before the song dropped (the evening of April 25th), @taylornation retweeted a photo of me for the #TaylorSwiftTonight tag on twitter! April ended up being one of my favorite months not because of my birthday but because of ME! You Need To Calm Down was released in June and although I am thankful for that inclusive bop, I am especially thankful for The Archer.

The Archer may in fact be my favorite song you have released (behind Style of course 😉). This song was released at the perfect time in my life because lately I’ve felt invisible. To me, The Archer is a musical representation of what it feels like when you wonder if someone will like you for being your true, authentic self. When I hear this song, I know I that there are others who feel the same emotions that I feel, wondering if someone will like me for who I really am.

Thank you for your music and I can’t wait for Lover and what the Lover era will bring! 😊

protecting yourself on ticketmaster: a mini masterpost

Hey, y’all. So, I just tweeted all of this after seeing someone quoted onto my timeline because their account got hacked which resulted in their Lover Fest tickets being transferred to someone without their consent, but here’s a better formatted version for all of you Tumblr folks. I’ve seen barely anyone talking about this on here so I’m going to take one for the team and share some info so hopefully it doesn’t happen to anyone else. Anyway. A few days ago, I was perusing the r/TaylorSwift sub (really cool sub by the way, they’re super chill and helpful) on Reddit, when a few posts caught my eye — people were talking about their Ticketmaster accounts being hacked, which was leading to their LF tickets being transferred to a third party (that they didn’t know personally.) I then vaguely recalled a tweet I saw recently about someone saying that the same had happened to them, but then brushed it off because I’m pretty sure it had been a false alarm, and the tickets had simply just disappeared from their account. But anyway. What I’m about to get into is purely me spreading info that’s meant to help, not to incite panic. (It’s 2020. We should all have strong passwords regardless!) (Also, please don’t scam anyone out of their LF tickets. Or any tickets.) Also, before I get into this I have no idea what goes on with Ticketmaster in other countries unfortunately, but I’m hoping that these tips are still ~~(somewhat)~~ applicable for things outside of the US!
